Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) is pleased to announce that Carleigh Orth has been promoted to Administrative Assistant in our San Diego office. Carleigh joined TMI more than three years ago as a Supported Employment Job Coach. She has a passion for assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with achieving their personal goals toward growth and development.

“My hope is that individuals with developmental disabilities are able to achieve their dreams without discrimination and barriers,” said Carleigh. “They have the right to make their own choices and achieve goals whether they want to go to school, go on a date, or start a new job. My wish is that they know they can achieve anything that they put their mind to with the appropriate amount of support.”

Carleigh is grateful to work for a company that has offered her a bigger role to reach and support individuals with IDD as she begins her new journey as an Administrative Assistant. She believes that she has truly found her passion at TMI and hopes to make the future brighter for those that we support.

“I love having the opportunity to work with amazing co-workers that bring true passion and individual experience to this field, as well as observing growth and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities,” added Carleigh.

Carleigh earned her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from Whittier College and previously worked as a receptionist at a senior care facility.

In her free time, Carleigh enjoys spending time with her family and friends, writing in her journal, and traveling to scenic locations.

Carleigh’s TMI journey thus far wouldn’t haven’t been the same had she not shared it with her best friend Bridget Flores who was a TMI Job Coach and, sadly, passed away this year. Carleigh greatly misses her and wishes that they could have continued to share their dreams. We wish that too.

So true, Carleigh! We know beautiful things lie ahead for you. Congratulations!
