We're happy to share some exciting news about one of our incredible clients, Fabian. After many months of hard work, dedication, and unwavering support from his TMI El Centro Tailored Day Services Direct Support Professional Priscilla Robles, Fabian has landed a job in construction!
A Journey of Resilience
Fabian faced significant obstacles in his job search, including having a speech impairment that made communication difficult, as well as societal biases against individuals with disabilities. Despite these setbacks, Fabian remained determined to find a fulfilling career.
The Power of Support
With Priscilla’s dedicated guidance, Fabian focused on developing essential job skills and strategies to overcome daily challenges. Priscilla provided unwavering encouragement and motivation, helping him stay positive and focused on his goals.
"When I felt rejected it would make me feel sad and like giving up but when I started to see that my goals were being reached, it really made me feel hopeful and excited for the future," said Fabian. "I just needed one opportunity to prove that I am capable of working hard."
A Well-Deserved Victory
This new job in construction represents a major milestone for Fabian. It's a testament to his resilience, hard work, and the transformative power of supportive services. We're incredibly proud of his accomplishments and excited to see what the future holds for him.
“My hope for Fabian is to gain a lifelong career out of this opportunity,” said Priscilla. “I hope to see him achieve sustainable growth and success. I couldn’t be prouder of Fabian. He has always talked about being a construction worker one day and to see him accomplish this goal was a major success. It is deeply fulfilling and truly heartwarming to know that I made a positive impact in his life and that we can make the world a better place.”
A Brighter Future
Fabian enjoys washing cars and hopes to have a car washing business one day to be financially secure and start a family. He also likes to play video games and take photos of beautiful places. His father, who has passed, had a profound impact on him growing up. He always took care of him, taught him to believe in himself and not to be ashamed of who he was, and to always follow his dreams so he can be successful.
As Fabian embarks on this new chapter, we're confident that he will continue to thrive. His determination and positive attitude are an inspiration to us all. We're grateful for the opportunity to support him on his journey and look forward to celebrating his future successes.
