The Toward Maximum Independence (TMI) Temecula office has been growing leaps and bounds! The managers have been working extremely hard and we are very happy to report that TMI is providing services to more than 100 clients throughout Riverside County. Jose Mayorga was such an amazing Integrated Work (IW) Job Coach in Temecula that when the offices growth called for a new Division Manager in August he was ready for the next step and eager to get to work finding employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Jose immediately started to work on resume building, job interview etiquette training, and practice interview questions with his clients. Shortly thereafter, Jose assisted an IW group with interviewing for positions at Wizard’s Party House in Moreno Valley. The Store Manager, Leslie, inquired about TMI’s program and what tax incentives the State offers employers who hire individuals with developmental disabilities. Jose provided her with the requested information and she immediately hired all three IW clients, Brittany, Bianca and Rochelle. They were so proud and ecstatic to have their first job! Jose even admittedly got a little choked when they received their time cards, aprons and badges. He feels very happy to have been able to assist his clients with achieving their life goals!
Jose and the group expressed to Leslie how grateful they were for the opportunity and told her that she is a leading example of an equal-opportunity employer. Leslie in turn said that she was excited to have the group and their coach to help them at her family owned store. A win-win for all involved.
